The Physical and Analytical Chemistry Department of the University of Oviedo is responsible for administering and coordinating the teaching of the areas of knowledge of Physical Chemistry and Analytical Chemistry in accordance with the teaching programme of the University of Oviedo, as well as supporting and promoting the teaching and research activities and initiatives of its members. The headquarters of the department is located in the Departmental Building of the Faculty of Chemistry. The department has six teaching laboratories equipped with the appropriate equipment for the laboratory practices of the two branches of knowledge. The research laboratories have state-of-the-art analytical and chemical-physical instrumentation with which doctoral students carry out their doctoral theses.
