Comité de ética en la Investigación

Research Ethics Committee

The Research Ethics Committee of the University of Oviedo is a collegiate, consultative, and interdisciplinary body, created to evaluate the ethical aspects of research projects and teaching practices with experimental animals carried out at the University of Oviedo, as well as to respond to other types of queries related to ethical issues in research, issuing the corresponding reports.

The regulations governing the different calls for research funding require that all research and innovation projects not only meet the requirements established in each case by current legislation, but also have the express authorisation issued by the Ethics Committee of the centre where the research is to be carried out. This authorisation is also required by many publishers for the publication of research results in their journals.

In this context, the Research Ethics Committee of the University of Oviedo aims to promote good practice in research, from the training stage, and to guarantee that research meets criteria of rigour, honesty, responsibility, freedom, respect and equality, respect for the environment, avoidance of risks and protection of living beings and especially of the animals used for experimentation.
