Admission procedure for students over 25 years of age

The University of Oviedo holds an annual entrance exam for students over 25 years of age, aimed at those interested who have reached or will reach that age in the calendar year in which the exam is held, and who are not in possession of another university entrance route (EBAU/PAU, Higher Level Training Cycles...).

The test consists of two phases: a general phase and a specific phase, to be held on two consecutive days, respectively. Each of the exercises in the two phases will have a maximum duration of one and a half hours. The general test consists of three exercises: Commentary on a text or general current affairs topic (to be chosen at the time of the exam), Spanish Language, and Language.

The University of Oviedo reserves 3% of the places for students who pass the exams for over-25s. The institution offers preparatory courses for these exams

In the specific phase, students must choose a branch of knowledge (Arts and Humanities, Sciences, Health Sciences, Social and Legal Sciences, and Engineering and Architecture) and, within this branch, two subjects. Each of the exercises in both phases will have a maximum duration of one and a half hours.

Passing the examination gives access to official degree studies. A minimum of 3% of the total number of places offered for each course will be reserved and will require an application for a place (pre-enrolment).

Candidates may take the entrance exam at as many universities as they wish.

To make it easier to pass the exams corresponding to the entrance exam for students over 25 and over 45 years of age, the University of Oviedo organises a preparatory course.
