INGENIUM’s Inaugural Olympics, Digital Creativity, and Sustainability: The Third Edition of the 10 Days Takes Centre Stage

The University of Oviedo has recently announced the call for the next edition of the INGENIUM 10 Days. This opportunity is open to undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students until the 2nd of April.

The 10 Days is a biannual event that brings together students and faculty from INGENIUM universities. They participate in a week-long series of academic and cultural activities centred around the strategic themes of the Alliance.

The event is split into two schools: the Junior School for undergraduates and the Senior School for postgraduates. Following successful editions in Karlsruhe (Germany), Chieti-Pescara (Italy), Crete (Greece), and Cork (Ireland), the third edition will take students to the Technical University of Iasi in Romania and the University of Rouen-Normandy in France.

Iasi Junior Summer School: Shaping the Future in 3D

The 2024 Junior Summer School will transport INGENIUM Alliance undergraduates to northeastern Romania. From the 20th to the 24th of May, the Technical University of Iasi will host a week dedicated to fostering creative thinking, product design, and 3D printing.

Designed for students from all disciplines with an entrepreneurial spirit, the programme will guide participants in transforming their innovative ideas into tangible market-demanded realities. Throughout the experience, students will learn key strategies to bring their ideas to market, from identifying target audiences to crafting value propositions and printing 3D prototypes.

The University of Oviedo is offering five places to its students who meet the following criteria: they must be enrolled in an undergraduate programme at the time of application and during the stay, be EU citizens or have a residence permit in Spain, and have a certified B2 level of English.

Participants will be selected based on their academic record at the time of application, with priority given to those who have not previously participated in an INGENIUM mobility.

Rouen Senior Summer School: Harnessing the Olympic Spirit for a Sustainable Future

The 2024 Senior Summer School will be held at the University of Rouen-Normandy from the 27th to the 31st of May. The theme will revolve around the summer Olympics in Paris.

Over two days, the 28th and 30th of May, the first INGENIUM Olympics will take place, where students can compete in various disciplines such as laser biathlon, darts, sitting volleyball, dodgeball, rowing, or Florentine football.

The academic programme will include a range of activities, workshops, and lectures related to social responsibility, sustainable development, and campus wellbeing.

Throughout the week, participants will gain insights into biodiversity, environmental law, and low-carbon strategies, all against the backdrop of Olympic values and multiculturalism.

The University of Oviedo is offering eight places for this school: four for master’s students and four for doctoral students. The requirements are the same as for the Junior School.

Application Process and Decision

Applications for the Junior or Senior School must be submitted electronically through the SIES intranet form linked at the bottom of the page before the 2nd of April.

After reviewing the applications, the Vice-Rectorate for Internationalisation will publish a provisional list of admitted and excluded applicants. Applicants will then have a period of 5 days to submit any objections before the final list is published.

Before the start of the programme, beneficiaries must have a European health card, which they will need to present to the Vice-Rectorate along with their bank details to receive the financial aid.
