The University of Oviedo’s INGENIUM team met to plan the next steps for the European university project

The rector of the University of Oviedo, Ignacio Villaverde, who also chairs the INGENIUM Alliance Council (IAC), led a meeting with the local team of INGENIUM, the European university initiative coordinated by the Asturian institution. The meeting, held on October 5th in the Clarín Hall of the Historic Building, was an opportunity to review the achievements of the first year of the Alliance and to set the goals for the upcoming months.

“The success of an alliance depends not only on the commitment among partners, but also on the involvement of each university community in the project’s daily activities,” said Ignacio Villaverde, encouraging the members of the University of Oviedo to participate actively in every step of INGENIUM’s development.

The meeting gathered representatives and collaborators from different areas and departments of the University of Oviedo who are working on each of the work packages that define the pilot implementation phase of INGENIUM, which will last until September 2026. The leaders of each working group shared their progress and discussed the challenges they face for the future.

The local INGENIUM team at the University of Oviedo will meet regularly to exchange updates and feedback. The team includes academic and technical staff from various fields that form the core of the Alliance: digitalisation, research, teaching innovation, academic quality, programmes, sustainability, inclusivity, multilingualism, and communication.
