The IV University Conference on India approaches the culture and traditions of the Asian country

The Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of the University of Oviedo has held the IV University Conference on India, which was brought to an end this morning by the Ambassador of India in Spain, Suni Lai. The Rector of the University of Oviedo, Vicente Gotor, received the Indian Diplomat first thing in the morning in a brief encounter. Later on, Sunai Lai visited the Library of the Historic Building accompanied by the coordinator of the Conference, Carmen Escobedo, and the Director of the Library, Ramón Rodríguez.

The encounter has proposed a rapprochement with the cultural reality of the Asian country through different forms of expression such as cinema, dance and literature. The Conference was organized by the Department of French and Anglo-German Philology of the University of Oviedo under the auspices of the Campus of International Excellence.

Entitled India: Mythology, Art and Dreams, the programme dealt with the different approaches to the Indian culture and reality via lectures and workshops about books, film discussions or dance. Among the speakers of the conference were the historian María Tauset, the philologist José Luis Caramés Lage, the journalist Havier H. Estrada and the choreographer Mónica de la Fuente.
