The University of Oviedo sets a new record in the allocation of Erasmus PLUS funds

The Asturian university secures 2,872,500 euros – an increase of 20% compared to 2019

The University of Oviedo has secured 2,872,500 euros for the Erasmus 2020 programme – 20% more than last year. This allocation sets a new record for the Asturian university which, in the last four years, has managed to triple the funds allocated to this programme.

With this, the University of Oviedo climbs four places and is one of the ten best funded institutions in Spain, ranked eighth, ahead of larger universities. According to Francisco José Borge, Vice-Rector for University Extension and International Development, "in turbulent and uncertain times such as these, it is vitally important to maintain the drive for international development that has marked our institution's journey in recent years. Since 2016, we have managed to increase the funding of the Erasmus programme by almost 300%, which will not only allow a greater number of our students to gain academic experience at a foreign university, but will also allow us to increase the duration of their funded stays".
