Two students of the University of Oviedo are given the National Extraordinary Award for Academic Excellence

Pablo Doménech y Salvador Ballesteros have been awarded with the prizes for the Bachellor's Degree in Philosophy and for the Diploma in Marine Navigation

The National Extraordinary Award for Academic Excellence given each year by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports have been granted this year to two students of the University of Oviedo, who have been recognize as the most brilliant students during the 2009-2010 academic year in the Bachellor's Degree in Philosophy and the Diploma in Marine Navigation.

Pablo Doménech de la Lastra obtained the National Extraordinary Award for Academic Excellence in the Bachellor's Degree in Philosophy after also having been recognized by the University of Oviedo with its own award. Salvador Ballesteros was given national recognition as a Diplomate in Marine Navigation, and had also been awarded by the Asturian academic institution.

Moreover, Sofía Fanjul Carretero has been distinguished with one of the distinctions for the Bachellor's Degree in Business Administration and Carmen González Tejedo earned one of the accesits granted by the Ministry for her Bachellor's Degree in Biochemistry.

The prize money for each National Extraordinary Award for Academic Excellence amounts to €3000, and 54 prizes have been awarded in this category. The 54 winners of the mentions will be given €2600, and the 54 students with an accessit will be given €2200.
