The activities of the encounter, which will take place on 16 and 18 March, focus on the gold panning competition and the different exhibitions.
This will be a weekend of maximun activity at the Higher Technical School for Engineering, which opens from 16 until 18 March to hold the XXIII Minerals, Gems and Fossils Competition. The program offers exhibitions, guided tours and the traditional gold panning competition.
One of the main activities of the competition is the exhibition of mineral collections, which offers the possibility of acquiring some of the pieces. At the same time, guided tours to the exhibitions for student groups will be made.
There will also be a exhibition of renewable energy mock-up installations. Besides, visitors will be able to make guided tours to the European Centre of Gemology and Jewelry, where gemologists and jewellers are trained.
On Saturday, 17 March, an introductory workshop to gold panning will be developed, which will serve as a training ground for the contest taking place the following day. On the morning of Sunday, between 11 am. and 14 pm., the classification phases will take place.Finally, in the afternoon, between 17 and 19 pm., the final phases will be held.
