The University of Oviedo hosts today, Friday, the II Intercultural Voices Forum of GEMMA which gets together, in the Historic Building, students from more than 20 countries and from eight universities. During the encounter, the graduates in the Erasmus Mundus Master's Degree in Women's and Gender Studies will present the result of their research.

The Forum coincides with the celebration of the graduation of the two classes of the Erasmus Mundus Master's Degree and of the students enrolled in the University Master's Degree in Gender and Diversity, taught at the University of Oviedo. The Campus of International Excellence has sponsored the celebration of the Intercultural Forum, which has got together in Oviedo the students from other countries who have attended the Erasmus Mundus Master's Degree in Gender and Diversity in previous years.

A total of 55 students have received the graduation sash in a ceremony presided over by the Vice-Rector for Internationalization and Postgraduate Studies, Covadonga Betegón, and in which Isabel Carrera, coordinator of the Erasmus Mundus Master's Degree, Amparo Pedregal, Coordinator of the local Master's Degree, and Adelina Sánchez, coordinator of the GEMMA program, also participated.

GEMMA offers a joint program in Women's and Gender Studies, in which eight universities from seven countries with different traditions and cultures participate: University of Oviedo (Spain), University of Bolognia (Italy), Central European University of Budapest (Hungary), University of Hull (United Kingdom), University of Lodz (Polland), University of Utrecht ( The Netherlands), University of Granada (Spain, coordinator), and since 2011, Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey (USA).
