The group attends PUMUO classes at the Campus of El Milán and takes part in different cultural visits
Students of the courses for mature people of the University of Extremadura are visiting this week Asturias as part of an exchange with its equivalent in the University of Oviedo, the PUMUO, whose students visited Extremadura last month.
26 students older than 55 years old are participating in the activities. During the first three days, they attended official classes- whose subjects were chosen by themselves- and visited the Pre-Romanesque monuments of Santa María del Naranco and San Miguel de Lillo, Oviedo's old quarter, the Cathedral and the Holy Chamber of Oviedo as well as Ribadesella and the Hermit of Guía.
Tomorrow, Thursday. the group is going to visit the different spaces of the Historic Building of the University of Oviedo and in the afternoon they will attend the showing of the film Metrópolis, by Fritz Lang, at the Campoamor Theatre, with the performance of the live soundtrack by the Oviedo Filarmonía Orchestra, an activity which has been organised by the Vice-Rector's Office for University Extension and Communication. The exchange program is going to finish on Friday with the visits to the Old Quarter of Avilés, the Niemmeyer Centre and Cudillero.
PUMUO targets people older than 50 years old and aims at offering a meeting and social participation point for a sector of population which, having spare time, are willing to join the courses and continuous training the university institution offers them.
