Both institutions have signed a framework agreement to promote grant creation for foreigner students and the support of postgraduate training.
The University of Oviedo and ALSA have opened a new collaboration line with the signing of a framework agreement which will include specific actions related to the promotion of research in business-related activities, the support to the development of postgraduate university programs and the awarding of grants for the incorporation of foreign students to the University of Oviedo.
The Rector of the University of Oviedo, Vicente Gotor, the President of ALSA Asturias, Jacobo Cosmen, the Director of the Regional Transport Division of ALSA, Manuel Parrondo, the Vice-Rector for Economic Planning, Agreements and Contracts, Santiago Álvarez, and the President of Honor of ALSA, José Cosmen Adelaida, were present in the signing of the agreement.
Vicente Gotor was pleased to deepen in the philosophy of business collaboration. "From our Campus of Excellence we have endeavoured to build our confidence for that connection between compnaies and University and with this agreement we continue working in that line", explained the Rector, who specially showed his gratitude to the Cosmens for their interest in the University.
For his part, the President of ALSA Asturias, Jacobo Cosmen, highlighted the importance of these kinds of collaborations "in this critical moment we are going through because we need to continue learning. ALSA and the University of Oviedo have some points in common and we aim to jointly discover the collaboration possibilities and approve and put them into pratice".
The international expansion of ALSA, specially in territories such as China, can be one of the assests which allows a greater international expansion of the University of Oviedo. Vicente Gotor tooak advantage of the situation to reiterate the need to approve a Patronage Law which "helps in the promotion of collaboration agreements between companies and the University and guarantees a mutually profitable return. Along the same line, Jacobo Cosmen was convinced that in the near future " efficiency and collaboration ways will be much more frequent" and he pointed out that a regulation with these characteristics would be " a good means".
