The three programs coordinated by the academic institution have received more than 2.000 applications for 75 places available
The three Erasmus Mundus Master Programs coordinated by the University of Oviedo have received more than 2.000 applications for the 75 places offered. The deadline for registration ended at the end of December and the International Graduate Center has received applications from 114 countries to join any of the three programs next year. The Campus of International Excellence of the University of Oviedo has promoted the implementation of the three European programs in the Asturian institution.
The University of Oviedo included this year the Master´s Degree in Public Health in Disasters, which has had 1.072 applications in its first edition, and which will start on September with 30 students.
The Master Courses in Emergency Nursing and Critical Care, Sustainable Transportation and Electric Power Systems (STEPS) will welcome their second edition of students next year. The first one has received 255 applications for 25 places, while the STEPS program has 689 applicants for 20 places.
It is worth mentioning the different nationalities of the applicants, who come from 114 different countries. There are applications coming from America or Asia, and also from China, Mexico, USA, India, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia or Taiwan.
The two programs related to health, Emergency Nursing and Critical Care, and Public Health in Disasters, are specially successful in underdeveloped countries like Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Philippines or Indonesia.
