Psicothema, the second scientific journal in Spanish with the highest impact according to Google Scholar Metrics

The Faculty of Psichology of the University of Oviedo and the Psychological Association of the Principality of Asturias publish this prestigious journal, which is already included in the most relevant national and international databases

The new Google tool used to know the impact of academic journals, Google Scholar Metrics, places Psicothema on second position within the academic publications in Spanish in the world. Psicothemawas founded in 1989 and is run by the Professor in Psychometry at the University of Oviedo, José Muñiz. The Faculty of Psychology of the University of Oviedo and the Psychological Association of the Principality of Asturias are in charge of its edition. It is also included in the most relevant national and international databases such as Psychological Abstracts, Current Contents y MEDLINE/Index Medicus. Likewise, it appears in the impact factor lists made by the prestigious Institute for Scientific Information.

Psicothema is defined as a journal "open to any psichological approach or bias endorsed by data and arguments". Its content is available for any user or institution free of charge. The users can read, download and distribute complete texts without previous request for permission to the author or the editor, always in case the original source is indicated.

Google Scholar Metrics makes it possible to easily know the visibility and influence of the most recent academic articles. The search provides the list of the first 100 scientific journals in several languages, classified following the so-called h index, or Hirsch index, based on the numer of times an article has been quoted in other distinguished journals.
