The University of Oviedo will receive the funds of the personal archive of the Argentinian writer Daniel Moyano. It will be officially donated by his widow, Inma Capellino, to the Library of the University of Oviedo. Coinciding with the 20th anniversary of the death of the Spanish American author, the Department of Spanish Philology has organized a seminar for approaching the work and figure of the Argentinian narrator, who maintained a close link with the University of Oviedo through his multitudinous literature workshops.

The works of the creative archive by Daniel Moyano will be placed in the Augusto Monterroso Hall in the Humanities Library. This material is specially valuable for researchers to approach the creative process of the Argentinian author. Thus, his notes, drafts, some of his first manuscripts and some corrections in his texts have been documented and arranged. The documentation also includes some unpublished texts that the writer did not use in his works or that he could not publish on time.

The collection has been arranged and described in detail following the guidelines provided by the author. In fact, some of the pieces making up the creative archive of Moyano will arrive in Oviedo in the following months as the transfer of the documents is being made progressively.

Seminar and critical edition

In such an important anniversary, the Department of Spanish Philology of the University of Oviedo has wanted to pay a special tribute to the Argentinian author by organizing a seminar which will bring specialists in Spanish American literature together in the capital of the Principality and who will analyse the Argentinian narrative outlook in the period in which Moyano's work was set, the second half of the XX century.

During the encounter, which will be held next Tuesday, 23 October, and which will be opened by the Vice-Rector for Research and Campus of International Excellence, Paz Suárez Rendueles, they will present in Oviedo the critical edition that the Archives Collection, the most prestigious one currently in the edition of Spanish American contemporary texts, has written on Moyano's novel, Tres golpes de timbal. The directors of the Fernando Colla and Sylvie Josserand collection, lecturers from the University of Poitiers (France) and Marcelo Casarín, lecturer at the National University of Córdoba (Argentina) and coordinator of the editing and teamwork who has studied the different manuscripts of the work to write the critical edition.
