The Universities of Oviedo and Western New Mexico jointly signed a double degree in the Master's Degree of Teacher Training

This agreement will allow teacher and student mobility between the Asturian institution and the American university

The Rector of the University of Oviedo, Vicente Gotor, and his counterpart at the Western New Mexico University, Josep Shepard, have signed this morning a collaboration agreement for students mobility and the putting in motion of the double degree in the Master's Degree in Teacher Training in Secondary and Upper Secondary Education and Vocational Training.

The framework includes the development of joint projects on scientific and cultural research as well as the exchange of students of Teaching Education. On his part, the specific agreement implies the putting in motion, next academic year, of the double degree in the Master's on Teaching Training.

The University of Oviedo and the American academic institution will facilitate the exchange between students and teachers of the mentioned university Master's degree. Thus, students attending postgraduate studies at the University of Oviedo will move to the Western New Mexico University to finish their studies. The final aim is that these students are allowed to teach in the USA thanks to this double degree.

The Vice-Rector for Internationalization and Postgraduate Studies, Covadonga Betegón; the Director of the Internationalization Office, Leticia Santos, together with the Vice-Dean for Mobility of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Javier Fombona, and the Professor Ángeles Pascual, who promoted this intitiative, attended the signing of the agreement.
