The academic institution has informed the CTA about some incidents reported by users
The lines Centro-Bus-Universidad are a service offered to the university community by ALSA and managed by the Asturian Transport Consortium (CTA). In order to inform those responsible about some issues which were reported to the Vice-rector's office for Students and Employment, this body, acting as institutional mediator, asked the CTA for a meeting which was held this morning.
The University of Oviedo wants to thank publicly the good disposition of the CTA's managers to solve these problems, which have been mostly caused by the mismatches that suppose the beginning of a new course, in which more than 500 new users will join the 6.500 which were already using this service. CTA representatives rely on the reinforcements implemented in the lines so that the incidents can be definitely resolved.
At the same time, CTA was told about the concern referred to the means of transport that connects with Polytechnic School of Mieres. A worry which has been observed since previous years and this year has suffered a great increase in the number of new students due to the running of the Degree in Civil Engineering. The CTA has provided diverse solutions, based on the already existing lines (such as the Oviedo- Mieres) and also studying new possibilities to ease the access to the campus through public transport.
