A jury and the audience will award the prizes to the best business ideas, next Friday, in a ceremony to be held in the Prince Felipe Auditorium, in Oviedo.
The Chamber Hall of the Prince Felipe Auditorium of the University of Oviedo will host the final of the IV Contest of Business Ideas, which will take place next friday 4 May from 16.30 pm. In there, a dozen of entrepreneurs from the academic institution will show their business ideas to the jury and the audience.
A specialised jury will be in charge of ruling which is the best business idea and will acknowledge the first three projects with 3,000, 2,000 and 1,000 euro prizes respectively. Furthermore, the people present will vote for awarding the Audience's Sympathy Prize, which will be given to the most interesting and innovative presentation.
The IV Contest of Business Ideas is an initiative which aims to promote entreprising attitudes among the students and which counts on the collaboration and boost of the Campus for International Excellence. The twelve students who will present their projects before a jury and the audience belong to different areas of knowledge and have devised a project according to their areas of study (Law, Business Management and Administration, Physics, Engineering or Geology).
In order to reach the final of the contest, all students have passed a training course for improving their enterprising skills. This training program aims to help students to develop creative skills and the synthetic development of an idea, apart from the ability of presenting it in public, individually or in teams.
The jury of the IV Contest of Business Ideas will consist of Santiago Álvarez García, Vice-rector for Economic Planning, Agreements and Contract; Ignacio Onís Peral, General Director of Commerce of the Principality of Asturias; Gerardo Antuña Peñalosa, Oviedo Town Councellor; Ana Valdés, representative of the Chair Young Entrepreneurs Bancaja- University of Oviedo; Ignacio Iglesias, Project Manager at the Chamber of Commerce of Oviedo and representative of Incyde- Bancaja, and Pablo Justel, President of Aje Principado de Asturias.
The IV Contest of Business Ideas of the University of Oviedo count on the support and sponsor of Bancaja, the European Social Fund, the Regional Ministry of Industry and Employment of the Principality of Asturias and the AJE Foundation.
