The Rector encourages students to take advantage of this opportunity to get closer to the world of jobs and get to know the enterprises personally
The 13th Employment Forum of the University of Oviedo celebrates a new edition at the Luis Adaro premises of Gijón with the participation and collaboration of 88 institutions and enterprises. The goal of the forum, organized by the University of Oviedo Foundation (FUO), is to bring closer students and graduates to the labor world and provide last-year and recently-graduated students with their first contact with enterprises. The Rector, Vicente Gotor, presided over the inauguration, accompanied by the councilor of Economy and Employment of the Principality, Graciano Torre; the President of the Social Council of the University of Oviedo, Ladislao Azcona; the councilor of Employment and Economic Development of the Town Council of Gijón, Fernando Couto, and the general secretary of the FADE, Alberto González.
The Rector encouraged young students to take advantage of this opportunity to get closer to the enterprise. He also commented on the strenghtening of the link between the productive tissue and the University of Oviedo, especially in terms of the Campus of International Excellence. The President of the Social Council of the University of Oviedo requested an improvement in the professional prospects of the people we are forming.
The forum will be open during May 6 and 7 free of charge. The schedule of the meeting, which was attended by 6,500 people last year, includes presentations by enterprises from different sectors and round tables that will deal with the main challenges and difficulties in terms of youth emploment. A noteworthy example of these round tables is the one that will take place after the inauguration, titled Tú encajas en el nuevo escenario, featuring the president of the Social Council, Ladislao Azcona; the General Director of CSC Spain, Jesús Daniel Salas, and the President of the FADE, Pedro Luis Fernández. The debate will be moderated by the Managing Director of Sepepa, José Luis Álvarez.
The Employment Forum of the University of Oviedo is a referent in the field of employability, offering information on the current offer of employment for people with a university degree, as well as on useful resources for job searching.
