70 students of the Mexican university will move to Asturias to enrol in 10 different Undergraduate Degrees. Both institution will start the Honor Program in Biotechnology for students with excellent academic records.
The University of Oviedo and the Technological Institute and Higher Studies of Monterrey will start different programs to promote student mobility and develop joint research projects, especially in the field of biotechnology. The collaboration between the two institutions includes, among other matters, an agreement to let 70 students coming from the Technological Institute of Monterrey to move to Asturias to enrol in 10 Undergraduate Degrees. This mobility program will also allow Asturian students to study in Monterrey.
The Rector of the University of Oviedo, Vicente Gotor, alongside the Vice-Rector for Internationalization and Postgraduate Studies, Covadonga Betegón, and the director of the University Institute of Biotechnology of Asturias (IUBA), Miguel Ferrero, met with Professor Jorge Benavides, representative of the center of Biotechnology of the Mexican university, to advance several lines of collaboration.
Among other actions, the start of the Honor Program in Biotechnology is aimed at allowing students with excellent academic records to stay for studying and researching at field of biotechnology in both institutions. Professor Benavides has also met with different research groups of the University Institute of Biotechnology of Asturias to define synergies that lead to joint research projects.
