The Federation of Choirs of Asturias distinguishes the University Choir with one of its prizes

The jury highlights the artistic level maintained by the choir throughout its long history, which started at the beginning of the 20th Century

The Federation of Choirs of Asturias (Fecora) has awarded one of the Axuntábase awards to the University Choir. The award recognizes the effort made to highlight the role played by people and institutions in the defense, promotion and support to choral activity at the Principality.

The acts of the jury that awarded the prizes highlights the fact that the University Choir "has maintained a trajectory with an artistic level that has been recognized throughout each of the stages of its life, which started at the beginning of the past century". Alongside the University Choir, the 2013 edition of the Axuntábase awards were given to the young choir Los Peques del León de Oro and to the critic and disseminator José Gonzalo Fernández Mieres.

The University Choir acts in all the solemn events of the University of Oviedo, and it offers its own concerts. As part of its shows, there is also the Más allá de la Y tour, which visits diverse Asturian towns to bring choir music closer to the public.
