The Governing Council of the University of Oviedo, during its ordinary meeting of today's morning, approved the establishment of the Double Degree in Civil Engineering and Mining Engineering and Mining and Energy Resources. The new Undergraduate Degree will be available starting next academic year at the Campus of Mieres. The university body also greenlit the academic calendar for the 2014-2015 academic year.

The agenda for the session also included the debate and eventual approval of the modification of the Regulations for Professors Emeriti of the University, to regulate the figure of the Professor Emeritus and reorganize the retributions they receive.

In other matters, the Governing Council also approved the Regulations for the Ethical Committee, the Internal Regulations for the University Choir and the change in the official name of the University School of Teaching Education "Padre Enrique de Ossó".
