Multiple accommodation options

The accommodation options for students at the University of Oviedo are multiple and adjusted to different budgets and lifestyles. A small region like Asturias offers its students a high quality of life and more affordable accommodation and living costs than those of the big cities.

Halls of Residence

The University of Oviedo offers its students two exceptional halls of residence and residence halls to ensure a comfortable and fully integrated stay in university life.

In Oviedo, on the Campus de los Catalanes, there are the Colegio Mayor San Gregorio, the Colegio Mayor América and the Residencia Altamira Residence hall, the latter for visiting professors and postgraduates. These accommodations are in a privileged environment with large green areas in front of the Winter Park, and with the university sports facilities next to it, as well as being close to the historic centre of the city. The halls of residence offer the best accommodation with cleaning service, meals, Wifi connection for all members of the university community, as well as for students, teachers and administration and services staff from other universities that belong to eduroam.

On the Mieres campus, , the university residence offers modern accommodation, with 112 beds in rooms and studios. The building, which has library services, computer room, self-service restaurant and Wifi in all areas, is located next to the teaching, research and sports facilities of the campus, just a few minutes' walk from the city centre and opposite the bus station

On the Gijón Campus, there are plans to build a modern facility that will provide 200 accommodation places for students on the campus.

Accommodation for international students

Moving to another country involves a drastic change of environment and customs. International students enrolled in Spanish courses at La Casa de las Lenguas of the University of Oviedo have the option of being hosted by an Asturian family during their stay in Spain. The International Relations Office provides guidance to students seeking accommodation.

Other options

In addition to the above options, different institutions and city councils have specific accommodation options for students, such as Fundoma or Gijón City Council. In the latter case, the municipality offers a series of accommodation options and grants, especially for long-term stays.
