With over 400 years of history, the University of Oviedo is an institution committed to society with close ties to the region. We are the only public university in the Principality of Asturias, a region with an extraordinary cultural heritage and a privileged natural setting.

Quality in teaching and a huge research potential, with groups leading international projects, are some of the hallmarks of the University of Oviedo, an institution that promotes social responsibility actions in all areas, with a focus on equality policies, the employability of its graduates, sustainability, transparency and efficiency in the management of resources.

Our students can choose from a range of undergraduate degrees covering all branches of knowledge, bilingual pathways, double degrees and a wide offering of international and Master's degrees in collaboration with business, as well as PhD programmes awarded a Mention to Excellence and continuing education concordant with the demands of society.

The University of Oviedo was one of the first nine universities to have received accreditation as a Campus of International Excellence in 2009, thanks to a project that has the support of more than 300 institutions and companies in Asturias. Internationalization policies, including mobility programmes for students, teaching staff and administration and services personnel, and the transfer of knowledge to the business world are just some of our goals. In short, we are a modern, quality university at the service of society.
