La Caixa Scholarships
The bank offers scholarships to students wishing to further their studies at foreign universities. The international postgraduate scholarships provide access to universities in Europe, North America and Asia. The offer for the year 2013 comprises:
- 65 scholarships for postgraduate studies in Europe.
- 48 scholarships for postgraduate studies in North America.
- 7 scholarships for MBA studies in Asia.
The scholarships cover full tuition, a monthly allowance for accommodation and living expenses, a one-time allocation for initial settling-in, travel and medical insurance costs.

The Fulbright scholarships are aimed at young graduates from any discipline who are interested in Master's or PhD programmes, or, in exceptional cases, PhD student research projects at US universities. The length of the beneficiaries' stay will be between 10 and 12 months. The funding covers the following costs: travel, purchase of books and materials, living expenses, tuition fees, medical and accident insurance.
The scholarships are sponsored by: the Government of Spain, US Government, Parliament of Andalusia, Community of Madrid, Ramón Areces Foundation, El Corte Ingles, Abengoa and University of Maryland-Baltimore County.

Fulbright Scholarships for Spanish Language Assistants
Fulbright scholarships for Spanish language assistants are aimed at 5- or 6-year degree or undergraduate degree holders who wish to teach Spanish at a university or college in the United States, while studying two or three subjects. They are intended for graduates in the areas of Education Sciences, Pedagogics, Spanish or English Philology, or any other specialty provided experience in language teaching can be accredited.
The length of stay will be one academic year, non-renewable. The sum of the grant is $4,000 plus additional aid from each university. It also covers accident and medical insurance.

Iberdrola Foundation Scholarships
Iberdrola Foundation scholarships are for those 5- or 6-year degree or undergraduate degree holders who wish to pursue a Master's degree programme in Energy and the Environment in the United States. The centres hosting beneficiaries of these scholarships are the University of Rochester and the University of Maine.
The thematic areas to pursue the Master's degree programme must be:
- Energy Storage
- Renewable Energies
- Energy Efficiency
- Environment and Biodiversity
- Smart Grids
- Sustainable Energy System
- Clean Coal Technologies and Emissions Management
- Electric Vehicles
The scholarship implies a stay of one year and its funding includes the cost of tuition, a monthly stipend of $2,100 and a sum of $1,900 to cover travelling expenses. It also covers accident and medical insurance.

Iberoamerican University Association of Postgraduate Studies (AUIP) scholarships
Scholarships from AUIP partner institutions are aimed at postgraduate students with the goal of facilitating meetings between researchers from different countries, design, plan and implement joint research projects or facilitate internships and academic stays that contribute to more effective collaboration between institutions.

Vulcanus Programme for Internships in Technology Companies in Japan
An initiative that was jointly conceived by the Spanish Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Japan and the European Union, which allows European students to undertake internships in industry- or technology-related subject matters in a Japanese company. They are intended for university students from the third year on or graduates in the field of Engineering or Science.
The length of the stay will be one year. The candidates awarded a place will first attend a one-week seminar in Japan. They should then do an intensive Japanese course lasting four months. Finally, they will have the opportunity to undertake an internship for eight months in a Japanese company.
The academic branches giving entitlement to participate in the selection process are: IT, Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Electronics, Biotechnology, Electricity/Electrical Engineering, Physics, Telecommunications, Nuclear Engineering, Metallic Materials, Ceramics, Production Systems and studies related to these.
The overall funding for selected students is 2,000,000 yen (about €18,500) for the round trip and living expenses in Japan. Once they start the internship, students are hosted by the receiving company, and the cost of the courses and the seminar are covered by the EU-Japan Centre for Industrial Cooperation.

ICO Foundation-China Scholarship Programme
ICO Foundation scholarships are aimed at graduates or 5- or 6-year degree holders who want to learn Chinese and gain more knowledge of the economic and social reality of China. The length of the stay at Peking University to receive a course in Mandarin is 9 months.
Beneficiaries will have their tuition fees and accommodation covered. They will also receive a stipend for personal expenses of €4,400 euros and sum to cover travel expenses of €2,000.
