A Benchmark University
The University of Oviedo is one of the oldest public universities in Spain and constitutes a benchmark institution in terms of quality teaching and research over its 400 years of history.
In 2009, the University of Oviedo received the Campus of International Excellence seal accrediting it as a benchmark institution among Spanish universities. Its offering of undergraduate degrees, master's degrees and PhD programmes is fully adapted to the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) and is thus recognized and valued throughout Europe.

The University of Oviedo annually welcomes more than 1,000 foreign students and its academic programme includes bilingual undergraduate and Master's degrees, dual degrees with prestigious European and American universities, and six Erasmus Mundus Master's degrees. It is the coordinating university for three of these programmes.
Researchers of international standing carry out their scientific and teaching work on the different campuses of the University of Oviedo. The academic institution has cutting-edge technological facilities that also situate it as a benchmark for innovation for the Asturian business world.
The University of Oviedo is the driving force behind research activities in the Principality. Around 80% of the R&D and Innovation carried out in the region is generated in the University's laboratories and lecture halls, and collaboration between researchers and the private sector has become increasingly stronger in recent years.
