Bilingual Education in Master’s Degrees
The University of Oviedo, through the International Centre for Postgraduate Studies, has heavily invested in the promotion of internationalization and business colaboration with its offer of Master's Degrees. These postgraduate programmes have, in general terms, a minimum length of 60 ECTS credits (a full-time academic course) and a maximum length of 120 ECTS credits (two full-time academic courses), which grant a university degree upon their completion.
In its commitment to internationalization, the University of Oviedo has enhanced the teaching in English in its graduate programmes. The offer for Master's Degrees includes courses taught in this language, not only in the Erasmus Mundus Master's degree programmes, but also in a number of international Master's Degrees organized in collaboration with foreign universities.
The inter-university Master's Degrees, taught in collaboration with national educational institutions, and the academic and professionally-oriented Master's Degrees are also making a major commitment to doing part of the teaching in English. Some of the master's degree programmes use English as the working language, whether it be in just some of the courses or entirely, especially when the nature of the studies require English as the fundamental tool for working in an international environment with teachers and students from other countries.
Those students interested in enrolling in either the bilingual Master's Degrees or in those taught entirely in English must accredit their knowledge of the language with a B1 certificate or higher, depending on the chosen Master's Degree.
