The University of Oviedo has both public and private associated education centers which impart courses leading to official degrees valid throughout the entire country. Association is carried out through agreements which require approval from the Principality of Asturias, as proposed by the Governing Council of the University, prior a favourable report by the Advisory Council.
The Governing Council of the University is the body in charge of regulating the association requirements, obligations and commitments of the Associated Center, as well as the required content of the association agreements. The University must ensure not only the quality of the Associated Centers, but also that they respect the goals and principles of the University. The University of Oviedo currently has four Associated Centers.
