Admission of First-Year Students

Students wishing to read for an undergraduate degree at the University of Oviedo must submit a formal application for pre-registration, in those cases where they opt for courses with limited places, or directly for enrolment in the remaining degree courses.

1. Admission of students who have passed the PAU

Enrollment in Degrees with unlimited offer is made online at www.uniovi.es using the application active during the established period, entering the username and password that the student was given during their registration for the PAU examination.

Regarding Degrees with limited admission, students will have to pre-register before finishing their enrollment. This application is made online at www.uniovi.es and, once the list of admitted applicants has been published, if the student is among them, will have to finish the process of enrollment within the established period.

Application of admission may be made in any university, since the limited offer is public, that is to say, students compete with other students from any Spanish university district. Students may apply to any number of Degrees that the different universities allow (the University of Oviedo establishes a maximum of nine Degrees per application) and in as many universities as they want.

Undergraduate Degrees may be studied in full-time or part-time. To do so, the student must enroll with a minimum number of credits. The dedication regime may be changed freely at the beginning of each academic year.

2. Admission of students with the Degree in Higher Technician or equivalent

  1. Students from the Degrees in Higher Technician in Professional Education; Higher Technician in Plastic Arts and Design, and Higher Sports Technician, obtained in the Spanish university system, or with a Degree, Diploma or validated studies or equivalent to the Degree in Higher Technician will have to provide the corresponding certification of their Degree in Higher Technician or equivalent.

These students will be able to improve their grade for admission by attending the specific phase of the University Acess Examination (PAU) for Undergraduate Degrees, regulated in Articles 11 and 12 of the Royal Decree 1892/2008, dated November 14.

With the goal of synchronizing the dates of the University Acess Examinations for Undegraduate Degrees with the closure of the academic years of the aforementioned studies, the University will apply the regulations established in Article 3 of the Order EDU/3242/2010, dated December 9, that establishes the contents of the specific phase of the PAU examination available for students from the Degrees in Higher Technician in Professional Education; Higher Technician in Plastic Arts and Design, and Higher Sports Technician.

  2. Applications will be ordered by the criterion of evaluation of the academic record corresponding to the average grade of the Degree in Higher Technician or Higher Sports Technician (calculated according to the regulations established for each one) and, if applicable, the results of the examinations of the specific phase of the PAU.

For the Degrees in Professional Education dating before the aforementioned ones, the average grade of the academic record will be calculated according to the Resolution dated June 4, 2001, by the General Direction of Universities, that establishes the regulations for the calculation of the average grade of the academic record for students who are accessing University Degrees from official Professional Education Degrees, and in the Resolution, dated May 7, 1996, for foreign students who have validated their professional education, or the regulations that replaced them.
