    Access Requirements:

    In order to register in an official Master's Degree, it is mandatory to have completed an official degree in Spain or in any higher education institution of a member state of the European Union integrated in the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) that allows students to take a Master's Degree. Students who have obtained their degree outside the EHEA can be admitted as long as the University can verify that these qualifications have a similar level to the corresponding degrees in Spain and they permit graduates to take a Master's Course.

    This Master's course is intended for Graduates in Education, Psychology, Social Work, Social Education and Teaching. Graduates in other fields can access the Master's course if they hold a related degree and can prove they have had a professional career related to the Master's field.

    Modality:
    Semi-Presencial (parte de la presencialidad se ha sustituido por actividades de trabajo autónomo dirigidas por el profesorado, pero se considera obligatorio asistir a las sesiones presenciales establecidas).

    De Septiembre a Febrero, tardes de lunes a jueves y, de forma excepcional, algunos viernes

    Professional Opportunities

    Candidates will be able to work in the following professional profiles:

    • Management and organization of social and educational institutions and departments both public (municipal departments, social services, educational institutions, etc) and private (homes for the elderly, NGOs, etc.)
    • Design, development, implementation and evaluation of social and educational intervention programmes in the field of social exclusion such as dependency, elderly, children, immigration, etc.
    • Detection of needs and evaluation of programmes in the field of social exclusion.
    • Design of material and learning environments based on the information and communication technologies that support life-long learning and contribute to overcoming the digital divide.
    • Development of research projects in the field of social exclusion and social policies.

    Syllabus

    Students will take the compulsory modules and then choose a full optional module and another 6 credits to complete the necessary 18 credits. Candidates can also take up to two subjects of 3 ECTS each from the Master's course "Legal Protection of Vulnerable Groups and People", from the Department for Constitutional Law of the University of Oviedo.
