    Access Requirements:

    In order to register in an official Master's Degree, it is mandatory to have completed an official degree in Spain or in any higher education institution of a member state of the European Union integrated in the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) that allows students to take a Master's Degree. Students who have obtained their degree outside the EHEA can be admitted as long as the University can verify that these qualifications have a similar level to the corresponding degrees in Spain and they permit graduates to take a Master's Course.

    The following Undergraduate Degrees will have direct access to the Master's Degree:
    Bachellor's in Civil Navy: Section of Naval Machines; Bachellor in Naval Machines; Graduate in Marine Engineering; Chief Engineer of the Merchant Navy; Ship Engineer of the First Merchant Navy. Other applicants able to access this Master's Degree include graduates in higher engineering and engineering realted to the naval, industrial and energy sectors.

    The followin applicants may access this Master's Degree with the corresponding complementary formation:
    Diploma of the Civil Navy: Naval Machines Section. Diploma in Naval Machines. Moreover, applicants may access this Master's Degree with the corresponding complementary formation if they have a diploma or are technical engineering in the naval, industrial or energy sectors.

    Professional Opportunities

    The Master's Degree in Marine and Maitenance Engineering offers both a theoretical and practical formation for professionals, so that they acquire the competences skills and abilities needed to act as Chief Engineers in the merchant navy or positions of responsibility in maintenance, optimization and management of energy installation. Graduates will be professionals that will have acquired applied, integrating and multidisciplinary knowlege in marine engineering with the professional competences that they may have to use to act as Chief Engineers.

    Syllabus

    This Master's Degree is organized with an extension of 60 ECTS credits, all of them compulsory, divided into two semesters of 30 ECTS credits each one. These 60 credits are divided into 11 subjects of 3, 6 and 9 ECTS credits plus the Master's Thesis of 6 ECTS credits, which are organized in four blocks or modules:

    1. Research Formation, 6 credits
    2. Marine Installations Technology, 18 credits.
    3. Engineering of Management and Maintenance of Marine Systems, 30 credits.
    4. Master's Thesis, 6 credits.
