    Access Requirements:

    In order to register in an official Master's Degree, it is mandatory to have completed an official degree in Spain or in any higher education institution of a member state of the European Union integrated in the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) that allows students to take a Master's Degree. Students who have obtained their degree outside the EHEA can be admitted as long as the University can verify that these qualifications have a similar level to the corresponding degrees in Spain and they permit graduates to take a Master's Course.

    Students who hold a degree in Tourism or any degree related to the economic, legal and social fields, will have preferential access to this Master's Programme since they have the most appropiate training for this course.

    Professional Opportunities

    Students who succesfully complete this Master's Programme will have acquired a wide range of competencies and skills of different nature that will make it easier for them to get into the job market and take up highly qualified jobs such as director of tourist products, corporate director in tourist organizations, tourism operations manager, research manager, supervisor of development and innovation activities in the tourism field or tourism consultant.

    Syllabus

    This Master is divided in 4 modules:

    • Module 1: Analysis and Destination Planning (4 subjects, 21 ECTS).
    • Module 2: Company and entities management (4 subjects, 21 ECTS).
    • Module 3: Work Placement (6 ECTS).
    • Module 4: Master's Thesis (12 ECTS).

    This course content has been divided in two semesters. The first semester consists of traditional classroom training, whereas the second semestre comprises the work placement, the master's thesis and a few lessons. Students must complete 30 ECTS credits each semester.

    COURSE CONTENT

    FIRST TERM (September – December)

    MODULE I: Analysis and Destination Planning

    • Economic analysis of destinations, products and tourism sectors (6 ECTS)
    • Destination Planning and Management (6 ECTS)
    • Tourist development in rural areas and the natural environment (6 ECTS)

    MODULE II: Company and entities management

    • Marketing and Promotion of Tourism Destinations and Products (6 ECTS)
    • New trends in the management of tourism companies (6 ECTS)
    SECOND TERM (January – June)

    MODULE I: Analysis and Destination Planning

    • Tourism destination analysis and tour package design(3 ECTS)

    MODULE II: Company and entities management

    • Accounting and financial statements analysis (3 ECTS)
    • Management Standardized Systems for Tourism (6 ECTS)

    MODULE III: Internship

    • Work Placement (6 ECTS)

    MODULE IV: Master's Thesis

    • Master's Thesis (12 ECTS).
