More than 85 institutions will take part in the X Employment Forum of the University of Oviedo

This meeting will be held on the 5th and 6th of April at the Luis Adaro fairgrounds located in Gijón.Students in their last courses and recent graduates have an outstanding appointment during the next week in Gijón with what it can be their first working opportunity. This is the X Employment Forum of the University of Oviedo, organized by the academic institution and the University of Oviedo Foundation. The Forum will be held in the Central Hall of the "Luis Adaro" Exhibition Centre on the 5th and the 6th of April.
The rector of the University of Oviedo, Vicente Gotor, has presented this new edition of the Forum with the participation of 86 institutions. More than 75 companies will have physical presence with a display stand at the exhibition centre and the rest of companies will work together in varying degrees for the development of the current edition. The rector encouraged young people to join this forum that serves as a meeting point for students, graduates and firms. Vicente Gotor reminded that the employability and the entrepreneurial culture are two fundamental pillars into the Campus of Excellence of the University of Oviedo.
The director of the Social and Cultural Work of Cajastur, José Vega and the representative of the Executive committee of FENA, Laureano Cavia, as well as the Vice Rector for Students and Employment, Susana López Ares also participated in the presentation of this 10th edition.
The inauguration ceremony will be attended by Pilar Jericó, PhD in Business Management and an expert on leadership, who will be in charge of the opening conference entitled "Dare to star your own future". There will also be 20 presentations of participating companies, three round tables: one of disability and employment and other two linked to the Clusters of Biomedicine and Health and Energy, Environment and Climate change belonging to the Campus of International Excellence apart from the VII Meeting of Directors, organized by FENA, which will explore "The Challenges of the new economy" and will count with the former Minister Jordi Sevilla in the opening conference. As usual, the self-employment and entrepreneurship will have their space in the forum, with the presence of institutions which support entrepreneurship in this region.

The official opening will be held on Tuesday at 12:30 with the presence of the Rector of the University of Oviedo, Vicente Gotor, the Regional Minister of Industry of the Principality, Graciano Torre and the Head of the Asturian Federation of Employers (FADE), Severino García Vigón and some representatives of the City council of Gijón and Cajastur.
The Job Forum is an initiative that has been held since 2002 and last year attracted over 6,000 participants.
