The new university master's degrees have received 1.200 applications in the first pre-registration period

A second call for the submission of applications will be opened from the 13th of June to the 10th of July.The new list of master's degree offered by the International Centre of Post-graduate studies has received more than 1200 application forms in the first period of pre-registration. From this Monday, 30th of May, the lists of admitted candidates in this phase will be published and, the second call of pre-registrations will be opened on the 13th of June.
The rector of the University of Oviedo, Vicente Gotor, informed the Governing Council of the academic institution about the "excellent" welcome of the new catalogue of master's degrees, which promotes internationalization, inter universities degrees, the bilingualism and the cooperation programmes with companies.
From the 1200 pre-registrations, 900 have presented the necessary documentation to formalize the registration if they reached the place. Those graduates who want to study one of the 43 master's degrees which the University of Oviedo offers can register in this second phase from the 13th of June to the 10th of July. The period to enrol, once they are admitted, goes from the 30th of August to the 9th of September.
The rector stressed that, in the amount of the pre-registrations submitted, there were about twenty foreign students, mainly from China and Latin America.
The new International Centre of Postgraduate Studies of the University of Oviedo has started its activity with a catalogue of master's degrees in which, for the very first time, about 250 companies and institutions take part. The renewed offer of postgraduates studies in the framework of the Campus of International Excellence include international master's degrees –among them, three Erasmus Mundus- with 15 European Universities in 11 countries and partners in third countries, essentially in America.
When talking about inter universities master's degrees, the University offer 8 programmes in collaboration with 13 Spanish Universities as long as twenty-nine programmes are expected to be teach in the academic-professional master's degrees. 23 of these will count with the participation of nearly 250 institutions and companies, which will collaborate in teaching, internships and joint supervision of final master's degrees projects. In addition, the new catalogue proposes three double degrees with universities of France and 17 programmes with bilingual teaching (four of them are fully taught in English).
Generally speaking, those studies have a minimum extension of 60 ECTS (a full-time academic year) and a maximum extension of 120 ECTS (two full-time academic courses).
