The Polytechnic School of Mieres participates in a national initiative which gathers 10 University Spanish public centers that offer the Degree in Geomatic Engineering and Topography to promote the academic program.  This campaign is the result of several meetings in which directors have participated on a periodical basis, in the past few years. The new website, is the basis of this initiative.
These meetings have been held due to the need to design a new degree, and they serve as a forum to discuss and share ideas about aspects related to the degree. Changing the name of what used to be known as Technical Engineering in Topography and Geodesy Engineering and Cartography is due to the application of new technologies to traditional methodologies and practical aspects, which has opened a wide spectrum of professional possibilities for those devoted to this field.
