    General Information

    Teaching Languages: Spanish

    Places: 20. Minimum number of students required: 12

    Duration: 750 hours, (30 ECTS credits)

    Tuition Fee: 2.400 €

    Access Requirements:

    Being in possession of an official University Degree. Nevertheless, exceptionally, admission will be extended to professionals directly related to to the speciality of the course who lack a Degree, as long as they prove their professional careers and meet the legal criteria to access University courses.

    Please check the Agreement of November 29, 2007 of the Governing Council of the University of Oviedo, which approves the regulation of studies leading to Certificate Degrees and other Postgraduate Degrees (BOPA, January 12, 2008).

    Professional Opportunities

    The Expert's Degree in Terrain Engineering is mainly aimed at professionals related to Terrain Engineering: Mining Engineers, Engineers of Roads, Channels and Ports, Geological Engineers.

    The goal is to give them the necessary tools and knowledge to allow them to acquire a global formation, so that they can be able to approach their professional career in a way that meets the current expectations of the market, acquiring interrelated knowledge and skills.

    The Expert's Degree in Terrain Engineering has a duration of a year, organized in two semesters with a total of 30 ECTS credits.

    MODULE 2 Basic operations: Dig sites and land movements


    1. Critical parameters in the digging of a terrain
    2. Special construction techniques in dig sites

    MODULE 3 Stability of the terrain


    1. Factors that may cause instability
    2. Support of a construction job: Walls, screens, slopes and mooring

    MODULE 4 Behavior of the terrain: Detection and control of issues


    1. Geotechnic characterization of waste
    2. Geotechnic auscultation: paramenters of control and equipment
    3. Techniques of remote control in building jobs. Automatic and real-time control
