• A team from the Public University of Navarra wins the VII Debating League of the G-9

    The legalization of cannabis in Spain was the debating topic chosen by the teams that took part in the finals held at the University of Zaragoza

    The team from the Public University of Navarra has won the finals of the Inter-University Debating League of the G-9, held on April 17, in the headquarters of the Aragon Court, in Zaragoza. The team from the UPNA has competed with those representing the University of the Basque Country in the finals. This edition was organized by the University of Zaragoza and the chosen topic was ¿Should cannabis be legal in Spain?
    The University of Oviedo also took part in this contest with a team consisting of Inés Bolaños Somoano, Marcelino Díaz Acebal, Daniel Ares Rodríguez and María García San Román, students from the degrees related to Law and English Studies.
    The Inter-University Debating Leaguer of the G-9 is aimed at promoting public discussion, and oral expression among students, as well as developing personal skills to search for information, analysis, listening skills, team work and effective reply.
    The G-9 Group of Universities is made up of the Universities of Cantabria, Castilla-La Mancha, Extremadura, Islas Baleares, La Rioja, Oviedo, País Vasco, Pública de Navarra and Zaragoza. Their common denominator is that they are the only public universities in their autonomous communities.
