October 02, 2014
The exhibition is part of the project entitled Imprimo. Diálogo con la Obra Gráfica, which includes workshops for the audiences on Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings
Thirty Asturian artists are gathering their works at the Exhibition Hall of the LAUDEO Cultural Center of the University of Oviedo to bring to the audience the history of engraving through their works. The exhibition entitled Aquí y Ahora offers an interesting tour through five decades and different generations of authors of national and international prestige who co-exist with young assets. The Rector of the University of Oviedo, Vicente Gotor, and the Councilor of Education, Culture and Sports, Ana González, inaugurated the exhibition, which is part of a larger project that includes engraving workshops open to the public at the lower cloister of the Historical Building.
Imprimo. Diálogos con la obra gráfica is the title of the joint project that includes the exhibition of hard engravings and engraving workshops. The exhibition, curated by Santiago Martínez, includes a wide and diverse representation of hard engraving in Asturias from different perspectives and through a dialog between artists. The Exhibition Hall features the works of Manolo Calvo, Adolfo Bartolomé, Elías G. Benavides, Reyes Díaz, José Paredes, Fernando Redruello, Ángel Guache, Eugenio López, Luis Fega, Dora Ferrero-Melgar, Josan López Pariza, Francisco Fresno, Xulián Fueyo, Melquiades Álvarez, Miguel Galano, Ricardo Mojardín, María Álvarez, María Jesús Rodríguez, Pablo Maojo, Isabel Cuadrado, Fernanda Álvarez, J. Carlos Álvarez Cabrero, Fermín Santos, Pablo Armesto, Sandra Sarasola, Beatriz Corredoira, marta Fermín, Jacobo de la Peña, Federico Granell, Jezabel Rodríguez, Valle Baranda and Iván Baizán.
This proposal has been possible thanks to the collaboration of the Museum of Fine Arts, the School of Arts of Oviedo, the Art Gallery of Langreo, and the SOBREIMPRESIÓN collective of artists. Alongside the curator, the inauguration featured the presence of the Vice-Rector for University Extension and Communication, Vicente Domínguez; the Director of the Museum of Fine Arts, Alfonso Palacio, and the Director of the School of Arts of Oviedo, Antonio Casanova. The exhibition will be open until October 31, from Mondays to Fridays, between 11:00 and 14:00, and 17:00 to 20:300, and on Saturdays between 10:00 and 13:00.
