The Rectors of the Spanish public Universities have read today, simultaneoulsy, at 12 pm, a communiqué to denounce the cuts in Education and R&D&i in the General State Budget and which will be approved soon. the University of Oviedo has joined this initiative.
The Rectors have requested "that higher education, research, development and innovation, which are intrinsically linked among them, be considered as investment and not expenses and that the Spanish Universities, as the European University Association (EUA) has recently requested to the Heads of State and European Governments, have enough and sustainable public funding and the university autonomy be strengthen for diversifying their sources of income without obstacles".
