The University of Oviedo and Informática El Corte Inglés, S.A. (IECISA) have signed a collaboration agreement to promote activities as part of EspacioBlimea Innovation Center (EbIC), in which the work of the technological consultant partially takes place. The Rector, Vicente Gotor, and the Director of the Delegation of IECISA for Asturias and Cantabria, Juan Carlos Fernández, signed the agreement this morning, which will benefit both university students and teachers.

The agreement involves two main actions. On the one hand, the creation of an annual award to promote and encourage technological innovation in the field of the University. This award will be available for students of the Polytechnical School of Engineering of Gijón, the School of Computer Science Engineering and every student of a Master's Degree that depends from the International Center for Postgraduate Studies included in the call for the award.

The goal of the prize is to praise the Bachelor's projects, Undergraduate Theses and Master's Theses that are abased on the application of Information and Communications Technologies, according to the evaluation criteria that will be published.

Moreover, as a second action, the agreement offers conferences by experts of IECISA and the enterprises that collaborate in the EspacioBlimea Innovation Center, in order to promote in the university topics related to Information and Communications Technologies that are on the cutting-edge of knowledge. As a complement, the agreement also includes for students and teachers the possibility of visiting the innovation center of Blimea.
